Top Destinations in Africa & the Middle East

When it comes to two huge geographical locations – the African continent and the Middle East – it’s difficult to decide where to go for vacation or adventure. There are lots of wonderful and exciting stops a traveler can make.

Let’s start with the Middle East. This is an area of the world where danger lurks. It’s important for a traveler or someone choosing a vacation destination to select carefully and wisely. There are many Arab nations in this part of the world and one western democracy. It’s fair to say that many of the Arab countries are just too dangerous for foreigners.

The nations that make up the “gulf states,” Dubai, Saudi Arabia and a few others offer interesting opportunities for travelers. These countries are wealthy oil –producing states and they can provide visitors with deluxe hotel accommodations and all of the amenities and activities one would expect to find at a world-class resort, including sunshine, swimming and exceptional golf courses.

Israel is the Middle Eastern Democracy and is a popular destination for Americans and other westerners. Although it is geographically small, Israel has beautiful beach resorts and wonderful weather for travelers to enjoy. Biblical history is evident almost everywhere, another factor that makes Israel a country worth visiting. Of course, many of Israel’s Arab neighbors are sworn enemies. From time to time, an Arab terrorist will slip across the border and attempt to create havoc. The potential for danger is real.

Africa presents many intriguing vacation possibilities. Northern Africa is home to the monarchy of Morocco, a wonderful vacation destination. Its cities, including Tangiers, Fez, Casablanca and Marrakech are world-famous. The cities have famous commercial bazaars where open-air shops sell all kinds of goods to shoppers. Bargaining is prevalent and part of the fun. Of course, Marrakech is a world-class resort with beaches and first-class hotels catering primarily to French guests.

There are other, more exotic, vacation possibilities available in Africa. In countries like Kenya, a vacationer can stay in a tree-top hotel and watch animals in their natural habitat. Walking and riding photographic tours through jungle areas are also available. It is fascinating and memorable.

Southern Africa offers something still quite different. At its southern tip, a visitor can plan a trip to South Africa. It is the most advanced country on the African continent – with beach resorts, big cities, world-class cuisine and entertainment.

Clearly, there are many excellent travel choices. All you need do is decide which one is the best. Then, book your trip and plan to stay at least 10 days to two weeks. There is a lot to see, lots more to do, even more to enjoy and you don’t want to miss anything. It may also be a good idea to go to your local bookstore before you leave in order to buy a book that will tell you everything you need to know to assure that the time you spend in the Middle East or in Africa becomes time well spent.
