New York is one the best states in America. Not only is it the cornerstone of the financial market for America, but its culture and people are just as unique and interesting. A lot of people visit New York but if you aren’t a local, or your just a tourist wanting to see the Big Apple then following attractions listed below should help.
Statue Of Liberty
The original name is actually Liberty Enlightening The World. It was given to us by France in 1885 as a gift to symbolize the beginnings of America. Located on Liberty Island. The Statue Of Liberty holds its value even in today’s modern America. Freedom, justice, and the right to pursue happiness.
Empire State Building
Now this is a tower that you can’t miss. Located in the city of New York it was the largest tower ever to be built before the SEARS tower in Chicago claimed the title. The building contains multiple gift shops, the famous sky-ride virtual reality movie theater, as well as many exhibits for art. 10,000 to 20,000 people daily visit this tower. They are either tourist or employees, but one thing is for sure, the tower still stands today in all its grand.
Time Square
Time square is often mistaken to be a square by some tourist. It really is not. It takes shape as a district that is bordered by 6th Avenue and 9th avenue on one side. The other side is bordered by the 59th street and 39th. Time square wasn’t always called Time Square. The original name was long acre square but when the New York Times company moved their they changed the name of the actual district. This is due to the New Years Eve tradition the company holds every year.
United Nations Headquarters
Wow, this building is just something. Located on a 18 acre lot near the Hudson river the building is one of New York’s main attractions. I mean, who doesn’t want to see the UNITED NATIONS building? As you might have guessed this building is by far one of the most visited buildings in America, and New York. It receives tens of thousands of tourist every year and continues to show the progress America and the rest of the world is making toward global peace.
New york isn’t just a state. It is a state with rich history, culture, and an attitude that will either have you crying, or selling shoes on the corner block of Brooklyn.
