Lots of emphasis is placed on air security because of the prevailing threat situation in the world. While most of the air travel rules are imposed at the airports, there are some simple yet important rules that are implemented to beef-up the security in flights. It is highly recommended that you know and understand the in-flight air travel rules, so that your air travel goes quite smoothly without any unwanted incident that can get you in some serious trouble.
Most of the in-flight problems occur because of the passengers who refuse to follow the instructions. The unruly passengers are the ones who just don’t obey the simple air travel rules like wearing seat belt when instructed or leaving their seat even when it is not safe to do so or insist on keeping their carry bag contrary to the instructions given by flight attendants. However, such passengers don’t understand the hazards and consequences of breaking these easy to follow, but very important in-flight air travel rules. So the first air travel rule is that you must always follow all the rules instituted by the airline. This is very important for your own safety as well as the safety of your co-passengers.
Apart from following the simple rules like wear your seat belt or remain in your seat until it is announced that it is safe to remove or move around, it is also very important that you fully cooperate with the in-flight attendants. If they want you to do certain things like put on the seatbelt or get back to the seat, you should comply completely. Most of the times, if you ignore their instructions and get angry you will get into some serious trouble. A few bad words and you could end up in the hands of airport security staff or local law enforcing agencies at the next boarding gate. Even though you don’t consider it a big deal, any verbal argument, especially when it comes to non-compliance is taken quite seriously.
The next thing you should not do in the flight is to crack jokes or make fun of other passengers. Jokes, especially the ones that are related to any threat with words like high jack, bomb, gun or knife could get you in the grave situation. Even though you might be joking, words like these when overheard by flight attendants or co-passengers can be taken out of context and get you in trouble. You could get de-boarded, subjected to additional security checks and even detained.
After the recent incident involving a terrorist attack on Northwest Airlines, ne in-flight air travel rules have been enforced by the authorities. According to the new rules, all passengers of international flights traveling to United States will have to remain seated in their respective seats for the last one hour of their journey, should not carry the personal objects on their laps and access to carry on bags will not be allowed.
It is imperative to state that you must follow all the in-flight air travel rules and instructions to avoid getting into trouble with the authorities.
