The seaside resort of Naama Bay in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt is a haven for water sports enthusiasts and sun worshippers alike. Encased by the warm Red Sea to one side, and the scenic Sinai mountains to the other, the area boasts a wealth of fine restaurants and night spots, as well as top class accommodations.

Nestled in the heart of the bay, with panoramic views of the sea and mountains, the Tropitel Hotel Naama Bay is ideally placed to explore the many attractions of Naama Bay, but it also offers first class onsite facilities for guests who wish to spend time relaxing at the hotel. The Tropitel is home to a number of bars and restaurants offering a wide array of international cuisine, including Italian, Mexican, sushi, global fusion and traditional Egyptian dishes. Guests who are looking for an effort- and stress-free sun, sea and sand holiday can wander down to the pristine beachfront and take a dip in the warm, blue waters of the Red Sea or grab a book and some sunscreen and lap up the seemingly endless sun. The rooms are a stylish mix of modern design and traditional comforts, all with balconies or terraces that overlook the gardens, swimming pools or Red Sea.

There are several other hotels situated close to the beach in Naama Bay, including the Eden Rock Hotel (which has its own private beach); the Iberotel Lido (a useful option for travellers who are sticking to a budget); and the luxury Le Royale Sonesta Sharm Resort, an opulent beachfront hotel that combines modern, state of the art facilities with traditional Egyptian charm. Situated about 10 minutes drive from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport – a 50-minute flight from Cairo – Naama Bay hotels offer a convenient escape from the big city for anyone wishing to combine a trip to Cairo with a relaxing break in Sharm El Sheikh.

Naama Bay is a lively resort in the central area of Sharm El Sheikh. Although best known for its thriving night life (the bay lights up at night), numerous bars and good restaurants, it’s also an excellent holiday spot for sunbathing, beach activities like volleyball, swimming and snorkelling (shoals of colourful fish swim up close to the beaches and off the small reefs). Out to sea there’s windsurfing, banana boat rides, jet skiing, water skiing, canoeing, sailing and parasailing. There are a number of dive centres in Naamba Bay, which offer scuba-diving excursions to Shark Reef, Yolanda Reef, the Ras Mohammed marine park and the wreckage of the S.S Thistlegorm.

Away from the beach a trip inland to the desert can take in a camel safari or a visit to the home of a local Bedouin tribe. Heading to the desert at sunrise or sunset, or dinner under the stars, is an unforgettable way to experience the desolate beauty of the landscape. Keen walkers and hikers can climb Mount Sinai or explore the Coloured Canyon in Nuweiba.

Globally renowned as a rich man’s playground, Dubai is a byword for capitalism. A cursory look at photographs of the city from twenty years ago show just how far this absurd desert experiment has come, from dustbowl beginnings to moneyed business centre. Heck, they even had to invent a six star rating for hotels to fully express the luxury on offer. That wasn’t adequate – and Dubai now boasts the world’s only seven star hotel. The sheer, unadulterated glamour of the place has been attracting executives and wealthy holidaymakers alike. Small wonder that it’s tipped to be one of 2012’s hottest destinations. Here are a few things to think about before booking a trip to Dubai…

Getting to Dubai is now simpler, cheaper and more straightforward than ever before. Browsing the web for cheap flights you’ll find no shortage of offers. If you want the cheapest fares, book far in advance for the hot season between July and August (which is unbearable for many). If you can stand the heat, you might save a bundle. DialAFlight.com is one of the best-value sites – click the link to find a low-cost flight to Dubai.

The aforementioned six and even seven stars awarded to some of Dubai’s hotels should give you an idea of just how pricey it can be to stay in. However, you can lower the cost of accommodation to some degree by staying inland, closer to the airport and further from the beaches.

Give yourself at least a week to explore. The city itself is, of course, full of interesting things to see and do, but you should take the opportunity to venture outside the city into the desert beyond. A camel ride is a must. You can even book a desert excursion followed by a Bedouin feast under the stars. Another highlight is a yacht trip around ‘The World’. Perhaps the most famous development in Dubai, The World is a man-made archipelago in the shape of a world map.

Eating in Dubai is a delight – especially to the more conservative western palate. Michelin-starred restaurants sit side by side with humble street food. Be sure to try the local shawarma, an Arab staple. Best of all for cost-conscious travellers, a ‘champagne brunch’ takes place across the city every Friday, with hundreds of restaurants participating, offering free champagne and vast buffet lunches to passers-by.

Beware of the unusually strict licensing laws. There are plenty of illegal merchants offering alcohol, but the penalties for breaking the law can be stiff. No shops or grocery stores have a license, but most bars, hotels and restaurants do.

Want to be an international jet setter like the people from the Travel Channel? Then you’re going to have to deal with jet lag. Jet lag is when the body moves from one time zone to another, and therefore it thinks that it should be sleeping even when it’s a time where you would normally be awake. If you fly from New York to London, your body is going to be on New York time even though you’re during London waking hours. That’s just the way it works, right?

Well, sorta. You can get out of jet lag but you’re going to have to make sure that you have a plan. Here are a few tips to handle jet lag just the way that the pros take care of it.

First and foremost, you will want to make sure that you get enough sleep. We know that it might sound obvious to you, but that doesn’t mean that you’re getting good sleep. You will want to try to get as much rest as possible. Generally speaking, all of the last minute craziness of a trip is usually caused by not having everything planned out. So much sure that you really take as much time as you can to really plan things and get everything under control.

You also want to make sure that you eat healthy meals. It’s a given fact that if you don’t eat right, any lack of sleep is going to pull down at you. It can also make you much more susceptible to diseases because your body’s immune system gets suppressed. And there’s nothing fun about being sick on vacation!

When you get to your chosen destination, you want to make sure that you exercise as much as possible. Now is not the time to try to get out of your normal exercise routine. You’ll find that getting out to stretch your legs can really make you feel better about the world around you, even if you’re having to learn a new language on the fly!

If you need to take a day to get adjusted, there’s nothing in the world wrong with this at all. You might feel that it’s necessary to take that rest day to get settled in before you begin exploring. Take it with pride — that’s what the professionals do. They often bake this time into their filming schedule so that it looks more natural.

When all else fails, there’s nothing like natural sunlight to get you feeling like yourself again. Don’t be afraid to soak up the sun and chase the jet lag away — good luck!

It’s never too early to start thinking about holiday plans in the New Year, but you might not be too certain on where you actually want to go. If you ask us, there’s nothing wrong with the classics. And what could honestly be more classic than Paris?

This is definitely going to be a long guide, so you might want to settle in with a cup of coffee. Because when you think about a city that has nearly 12 million people calling it home, it goes without saying that there’s probably quite a bit to talk about.

First and foremost, you should understand that Paris is very large, and it’s divided into 20 districts called arrondissements. You need to make sure that you get plenty of maps to get around the city. However, even if you stayed in the 1st district of the city, you would still find plenty to do.

We recommend the 1st arrondissement as well as the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, and 11th. However, no matter where you go in Paris, there’s going to be plenty to see and do. Restaurants and small cafes are everywhere, and it’s pretty easy to get around.

Paris is going to be very nice in the summer, with warm temperatures to go around. However, the winters can be very cold, and that means that you need to make sure that you dress for the weather. The winter brings more rain than snow, which means that some people still like to go and check out the city anyway. The coldest that the winter gets is about 6 C / 43 F. That’s pretty mild if you live in Northern Europe or Scandinavia in any way. You have to make sure that you focus on the trip that you see in your mind, not the one that other people want to sell you on. So if you really want to see Paris in January, you will have to make it happen. Wintertime in Paris is an experience that we think that everyone should experience at least once or twice in order to get it out of their system. This is truly a city for lovers, for adventurers, and for anyone that truly believes in the arts being one of the highest of man’s pursuits as a whole.

Paris has three international airports to serve tourists. Charles de Gaulle International Airport, Orly International Airport, and Beauvais. Most people will end up flying into Charles de Gaulle, but it’s not unheard of to fly into the other airports.

There are plenty of trains, buses, and subway to get you around the city. You really don’t want to try to navigate Paris by car yourself, because it’s too easy to get lost. The streets were created before cars, which means that they are unwieldy and they make traffic very heavy. It’s a lot smarter to actually take your time with the public transportation system. You will find plenty of people that are willing to get you pointed in the right direction. Speaking a little French can really get you pointed in the right direction, especially if you really focus on being able to community properly. The French are very proud people, and they want to see tourists making the effort to get out of their comfort zone and learn their language. Even if you only know a few phrases, this still makes you look better than tourists that think everyone should speak their language.

If you stay in the tourist section of town, you’ll also find a lot of English spoken there. So it’s not like it’s the end of the world if you don’t manage to speak French.

Let’s talk about all of those lovely sights and sounds, shall we? You have to gift yourself with the Paris Museum Pass. This is a pre-paid entry card that will let you get into nearly 70 museums and monuments around Paris and the Palace of Versailles as well. It comes in 2-day, 4-day, and 6-day denominations, and these are consecutive days. You will also be able to jump long lines and get into places that would usually take forever to get into.

You can also get the ParisPass, which is another prepaid entry card that gets you to 60 other attractions like the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, and a river cruise. You also get free metro and public transport travel. There is also a combination pass that can let you get more transportation options in if that’s what you’re looking for.

You also have to see the Catacombs, the Notre Dame cathedral, along with the Opera Garnier and the Pantheon.

There are a lot of places to photograph in Paris, to the point where photography students are encouraged to visit Paris at least once or twice to get in some stunning photos. You will be able to practice your skills and look around at some serious architecture. Even if you’re not very good, there are places to really teach you how to become better.

Better Paris Photos is a place that gives you an instruction-oriented tour that will teach you more about photography and taking stunning photos. You will also be able to get feedback on your current photography skills. While this is somewhat expensive, a lot of tourists that have taken such a hands-on course have said that their photography skills have really improved because of it.

There are also tons and tons of movies to see when it comes to cinema. Paris has always been home to a lot of indie films, which are screened nearly every day.

There are plenty of fun things for children to do as well, at various museums and public galleries. Paris, like many European cities, is very child friendly and people will be friendly to your children as long they’re polite and respectful.

If you have always wanted to immerse yourself in learning French as a language, you have come to the right city. There are plenty of short study courses that you can take where you can learn better French and actually practice speaking the way real French people speak.

Working in Paris can be challenging unless you have an in-demand skill that the French employers really want. Make sure that you focus on actually talking to people that really know the market before you dive into living and working in France. There really are always jobs around, but you really want to make sure that you do your homework if you decide to cross this bridge and stay in Paris. You will need to also make sure that you have the right permits and visas before you even begin work. This can be exhausting at the start, but once you get it out of the way you’ll be able to enjoy Paris fully.

Paris is a shopper’s dream, because there’s very little that you won’t be able to find. Fashion is definitely the order of the day. You can find a lot of high end clothing, and there are even a few deals. Of course, luxury living is the order of the day as well, so you will find a lot of high end stores as well. Make sure that you don’t bust your travel budget!

If you want bargains, you will need to check out the flea markets. That’s where the days are pretty good.

Let’s talk about food. There are really three categories here — budget, mid-range, and splurge. Fine dining is not something that is always the norm in Paris. Yes, you will find great restaurants, but food in Paris is more focused on rustic, simple pleasures. Of course, the atmosphere of Paris is such that you can pretty much eat just about anywhere and feel like you’re already making great decisions.

You should always try to go where the locals eat, because that’s where you’re going to get the best service. You can also check out many of the food stands if you want something different, and there are also plenty of other cuisines from around the world to check out as well.

When you’re trying to figure out where to stay, make sure that you definitely look online for some good deals. If you plan to live in Paris for a short time, you really need to make sure that you rent a furnished apartment. This means that you will also be able to cook your own food and then you can just go to the market when you need fresh food. This can be a better experience than constantly dining out.

Overall, there’s plenty to see and do in Paris, no matter what type of budget you’re running on. Now is the time to check Paris out — have a great day!

Most people that are preparing to go on any holiday possible will need to pack everything that they need. The problem is that it is really common to forget some of the items that are going to be really important. That is why it is a good idea to create a travel packing list where you can write all the items that are going to be necessary. Unfortunately, most people have no idea what that list should includes. Let us think about how to create a travel packing list properly so that you are not going to forget anything.

The first step is to think about how long your trip is going to be. If you are going to go on a holiday for one month, the supply list will be different than what will be required for just one week. This basically means that your list should start with the type of luggage that you are going to take with you. In the event that the vacation is short, a simple suitcase with wheels might be enough. If you go to the mountain and you plan to do a lot of exploring, you will most likely need a backpack.

The next step is to think about clothes. You need to know exactly what you should bring with you and how many clothes to pack. Look for weather information for the destination and always pack accordingly. A bathing suit will be required if there is a chance that you will swim and when thinking about underwear and socks it is a very good idea to pack enough for around 7 travel days, no matter how long you plan to stay. This basically means that you won’t end up doing laundry often and you will not carry too much with you.

We now have to think about gadgets and electronics. In most cases people are going to want to pack a camera and there is a need to also add some spare batteries. Some will take the laptop with them. This allows them to add the pictures to the laptop and have free space on the camera at all times. The last thing on your list is a special area where you put personal items and toiletries that might be needed. This includes shaving creams, toothpaste and conditioner or anything else that you might require. If you follow all the tips mentioned above, you are going to have a good list for sure and you will not forget anything important.

In years gone by the lines of distinction between hotels and hostels were very clear, but these days things aren’t quite so straightforward. Certain hostels have renamed themselves ‘budget hotels’ whilst most offer private rooms that aren’t all that different from the traditional idea of a hotel. So, if you’re choosing between staying in a hostel or a hotel, it’s not always straightforward.

That said, certain differences remain that can be key to your decision. Primarily, hostels require a little (not a lot) more effort in the sense that you don’t get quite so much luxury or as many services as you would get in a hotel. If you’re scouring for late holiday deals, a hostel might be the best option, however, if you’ve booked through a well-known holiday company like Thomas Cook, for example, you’re more likely to pay a little extra and end up in a hotel.

Another key factor is food, most hostels have something in the way of cooking provision and put on a rather functional breakfast for their guests. Don’t expect a full fried breakfast, but you can expect the food to be plentiful and to fill a hole. With hotels, you’re certain to get better food, but then the cost is higher.

If you want your own space, you can always get a private room in a hostel, these are a little bit more expensive, but fundamentally not greatly different from a hotel room. You may have to share the bathroom with several other rooms, or you may have your own bathroom (if you’re really lucky), but that’s no great trial.

That said, by far the cheapest accommodation is to share a dorm (usually with complete strangers), it’s a great way to meet people, and because you pay for just the bed you save quite a lot of money. On the other hand, there’s always the chance that they’ll disturb you in the middle of the night by getting up and going to the toilet, or by coming back in late, but that’s the price you pay.

Another factor is the staff. In hotels you’re more likely to find staff who fall over themselves to be accommodating to your every wish, hostel staff are a different kettle of fish, but if you want to find a good local bar or a place to go out, you’re much more likely to have luck in a hostel than in a hotel.

At the end of the day, it’s all a question of what you’re looking for, if you’re travelling, a hostel might be the best bet because it’s cheaper and you’ll meet more people, whereas if you’re taking a well-earned break from work, you might want something a little more luxurious. It’s completely up to you.

Short term travel is something that’s vague and specific at the same time. Indeed, no one likes to think about the end of their vacation, but there will be an end. There will be a time where you will want to go back to the way your life normally is. Yet there are some people that want to do more on vacation than just recklessly seek the next adventure or even just passively sit around in a lawn chair soaking up the sun. If you want to have a more meaningful vacation, you might want to think about service.

One question that comes up is whether or not you can teach abroad when you’re not going to be there long. The answer is simple: yes, you can!

You see, the classic assumption being made here is that all overseas English teaching jobs are ones that are going to be long term. Sometimes there is a need for short term work, and not a lot of people answer that call. They feel that there are other things that will need to be done on vacation than help someone else. Now, we’re not trying to make anyone feel bad. There does come a point where you really don’t want to help anyone else. After all, don’t you do enough of that in your own life at home? However, if you do really feel called to service, then you can’t ignore that call — you just need to make things happen.

Let’s say that you have a summer free where you could be teaching. Why not look through short term TEFL jobs? It’s easier than ever before to get certified for the task — there are programs online that actually can get you certified quickly. From there, it’s just a matter of finding an organization that can support you. You might have to go with a non-profit, but the demand is still stiff. A lot of preference is going to be towards people that already speak the native language of whatever country is involved. This means that if you know a world language like Spanish or even Chinese, you’re going to be in high demand compared to someone that knows say, just English only. Will you pick up a lot of the language while you’re on assignment? Of course you will.

Some people actually prefer to volunteer overseas for vacation in order to gain experience to launch into better paying teaching jobs. Keep in mind that it’s a great way to actually se ea country from a different perspective than just a regular visitor — you’ll be teaching children and young adults what they need to know about English, which is something that can be downright rewarding. When you’re a volunteer, it becomes something incredibly noble — teaching English to people that might not get the chance to actually learn without your assistance. That’s a lot to think about, and it makes sense that you would want to really think it over before you plan your trip.

It’s tempting to sit here and think that you’re just going to barrel through project after project, but let’s get real for a moment — if you’ve never done this before, it’s going to take some getting used to. Think about it — you’re going to be thousands of miles away from home, trying to break through a language barrier. Teaching people is something that’s rewarding yes but it’s also quite demanding. The last thing that you really want to deal with is finding that you’re going to have to sort of just “roll with the punches” more than actually being right.

Add in that you might be assigned to a country where you don’t have all of the amenities that you had at home. If you decide to volunteer your English teaching skills in a foreign country that’s still trying to develop, you’re not going to have every creature comfort afforded to you. Life will be rough and hard. Also, the hours necessary to prepare for each class day can be a bit long at first. Teaching isn’t a picnic, even though you still get a lot of dreamy notions about the profession.

Simply put, teaching English abroad is definitely possible, even on a short term basis. However, be prepared to actually fight for why you want to go, and how you’re going to do it. Some outlets will let you pay for your expenses, while others may ask for a whopping “referral fee” before they’ll even connect you to anything decent. It’s a matter of hit or miss with companies, so don’t just let your needs fall on deaf mars — go out and get the things that you want today!

Indonesia? Yes, we’re going to be discussing a little piece of the nation of Indonesia. A lot of people don’t know a whole lot about Indonesia, except that there have been some travel warnings against visiting the country. The truth is that whenever a travel warning is issued, it’s done by some of the most conservative agencies in the world. If you can’t handle a little risk, then you might as well not even get out of bed, right?

Right. After all, you could get cut by your newspaper, drink sour milk, or even fall in the shower. Ouch. Given our choice of risks, we would rather check out the best that life has to offer, meet a whole new culture of people and otherwise expand our horizons, even though that sounds a little cliché. In other words, life is what you make of it, and that means that you should definitely check out Bali. I mean, why let travel warnings stop you? If you’re from the United States, there are several cities that have been on international travel warnings for years — we’re looking at you NYC and we’re definitely looking at you Detroit, Kansas City, and Memphis. Does that mean these cities aren’t worth checking out? Definitely not. It’s a great time to travel; we just wanted to highlight Indonesia for a moment.

Bali is an island that is part of Indonesia. A lot of tourists actually think that it is its own country, but that isn’t the case at all. The capital of the province of Bali is Denpasar.

In order to understand why tourists are just so in love with Bali, we need to start with the geography of Bali itself. As we said before, it’s an island. That means that there’s plenty of water to be found at every corner of the island, but that’s not all. It’s situated roughly 8 degrees south of the equator, which means high temperatures are going to be the rule rather than the exception. The island is about 95 miles wide and 69 miles long. That’s enough land to have a lot of neat geographical points of interest, like a huge mountain that’s also a volcano. Yep, that’s right — an active volcano exists right there on the island. It is Mount Agung, which is over 3,142 meters high. The volcanic soil has made the island very fruitful, giving the people of Bali great fruits and vegetables. This also keeps them from having to import so many items into the country. There is even a river — the Ayung River. It flows through the whole island.

There are beautiful coral reefs that surround the island, along with white sandy beaches in the southern part of the island. However, for all of you black sand fans there are also beaches in the north that have what you’ve been looking for. The more interesting part is that the Balinese have not yet developed the black sand beaches for tourism. You can still get to them, but don’t expect to find very much. This can be a good thing if you’re really trying to escape some of the “classic” tourism stuff on your vacation and get back to the untouched beauty of nature. We’re not saying that it’s completely undeveloped or that it’ll always stay that way, but there is a chance to enjoy a few things.

Believe it or not, there are only 3 million people that call Bali home. This means that when you come to visit the province, be prepared to meet a lot of different people. The island is home to most of Indonesia’s Hindu population, so be sure to show respect to everyone you come across — it’ll get you so much farther in the provinces than if you’re yet another rude tourist!

If you’re a nature lover, you will love the wildlife that await you in Bali. There are nearly 300 species of birds, including many swallows and orioles. Many examples of the wildlife are kept on natural reserves where guests can even feed some of the animals and see them up close.

So, where do you start your Bali vacation? Well, that depends on what type of activities you want, what your budget is, and the type of scene you want to be around.

Well, we mentioned Denpasar, which is the capital of the province. It’s a very busy city, but it might not really cater to much of the things you want to do. However, if you want to really blend in like a local, this is a pretty low-key city to do that in.

On the other hand, you have high tourist areas like Kuta and Jimbaran and even Lovina. We like Lovina because it’s a little populated but it still sports that beautiful black sand and amazing coral reefs. So if you’re trying to stay connected to the gorgeous landscape, this is definitely one way to get that done.

For luxury hounds, you’re going to want to choose Seminyak or Sanur. Don’t worry if your budget isn’t first-class — you can find values all over Bali, especially with the rise of the Internet on your side.

How can we skip over the different types of food that you can expect in Bali? Even if you’re into the fast food chains that you’re used to at home, you might be shocked when you find out that the fast food chains in Bali serve up local versions of the classic fast food favorites. Going very local and avoiding the tourist areas is going to get you meals that are a lot cheaper and also a lot more flavorful. We’re big fans of really tasting the local cuisine of a region before you go back to the standard tourist fare. After all, if you aren’t willing to explore another country inside and out, you might as well stay home — that’s where you’ll find familiar food!

Speaking of food, what do the Balinese people really like? Well, given that it is primarily a Hindu region, beef is not on the menu very much. Pork is the meat of choice, with plenty of seafood options. However, if you’re avoiding pork, there is also great duck. Bebek betutu means “darkened duck” and it roasted in banana leaves over charcoal until it becomes “dark”. Tourists that have sampled it say that it really is an out of the world flavor!

There are plenty of other tasty treats waiting for you, but you’ll need to travel to Bali to find all of them.

A quick note about transportation — you’ll have plenty of different types to choose from. Unlike some island nations where public transportation is virtually unheard of, you do have buses and taxis available. You can also rent a car, but we recommend a rental car with a driver package. You might think that this is fancy living but it’s not. You can get a car with a driver for around 600,000 Indonesian rupiah — which is roughly 70 USD at the time of this writing. That’s pretty cheap when you think about how much it would cost to get taken around New York City by private car/driver!

If you’re worried about not being able to move around freely, don’t worry. Even though Balinese and Bahasa Indonesia are the two languages that dominate the island of Bali, that doesn’t mean that you have to speak them. As with most countries though, if you can get through learning a few phrases you will get a lot better treatment.

There’s a lot to do in Bali — between the beautiful beaches, great food, wonderful people, amazing festivals, and deep-rooted culture, you are not likely to get tired anytime soon!

OK, if you just giggled when you read the title, don’t worry — you’re definitely in good company. Even though Bangkok is a pretty funny word to say, there’s something mysterious, wonderful, and downright fun about this massive city. The truth is that you can find just about anything you want in the great city of Bangkok, as long as you’re willing to look!

We got a few complaints that we don’t touch enough on the Asian countries, having had so much fun in Europe as well as the Caribbean. OK, we agree — so we started with Bangkok as a city and we’ll go out from there — okay? Good. Now let’s get into that travel guide…this might be a long one, so if you need coffee, you might want to get that now while you still can.

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand, so it’s no surprise that there’s quite a bit to see. There are over 11 million people living and working everyday in the city, which means that you’re going to have a lot to check out here. There are amazing temples and palaces, canals, huge open air markets and a nightlife that is admired all over the world.

Like Rio de Janiero and other cities, there are actually multiple districts that are ripe for the picking. There are actually 50 districts, but we’re going to cover the main ones here:

Siam Square — this is the district that definitely gets all of the attention. You’ll find plenty of activities in this packed district, because it’s considered the core of Bangkok’s commercial life. There is also a Skytrain track involved so you can travel around quickly.

If you want to get a little fancy and wild at the same time, what better place to go than the district of Sukhumvit. The Sukhumvit Road is world famous, and many expats love this district. There are a lot of great hotels and nightclubs here, as well as world class cuisine to be found in many restaurants. The nightlife scene here is very risqué, which means that it’s quite possible to get in a lot of “trouble”, if you get what we mean.

The district of Silom is pretty wild too, and rather quiet during the day. It’s considered the financial powerhouse of Bangkok, so expect a lot of busy business owners and power types rushing around.

If you really want to sightsee, you’re going to have to check out the district of Rattanakosin, where the Grand Palace is and Wat Pho as well.

Planning a more family friendly trip? You’ll want to check out either Phahonyothin or Ramkhamhaeng. The latter is a great place to bring the kids, because there are big shopping malls that cater to just about everyone’s tastes. There is also an amusement park or two to keep the kids busy.

So what’s the weather like, you might wonder. In a nutshell? Hot, hot, and oh yeah — HOT! Bangkok is located 14 degrees north of the Equator, which means that this is not a Siberia-type place at all. You’re going to get a lot of heat, and you’re going to get a lot of humidity. However, these weather conditions mean that you can visit Bangkok virtually year-round, and isn’t that a good thing? The best time to visit Bangkok would be around November to February. You’re going to find that temperatures are still going to be hot, but not unbearable. At night you’ll get lower 70s, which means that you can’t just stay in hotels — you have to go out and experience everything that the city has to offer!

People usually avoid travel to Bangkok during the super hot season, which is March to April. The wet season is May through October, where you get a lot of rain. When we say a lot of rain, we mean it — in August there can be over 196mm of rain! These downpours have caused flooding in the recent years, and travelers generally make sure to stay inside and weather the storm, literally!

Since this is a city that experiences extreme heat, you definitely want to make sure that you stay comfortable. You want to absolutely drink plenty of fluids and also to be aware of the culture of Bangkok.

Yes, culture. We might focus on the nightlife and parties, but the truth is that there is a religious and spiritual element to the city as well. If you’re going to visit some of the palaces and temples around the city, modesty is definitely going to be key. Don’t worry; you have plenty of opportunities to go wild elsewhere.

The main airports of Bangkok are going to be Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Muang Airport. You definitely need to allot a lot of travel time to get to and from the airport. For starters, traffic gets absolutely crazy. You might be from a major US city, but trust us — that has nothing on Bangkok traffic jams. The airports are roughly 20 miles from the city, so you are going to need transportation hire.

Taxis are going to be your best way of getting around, and they run all the time. You’re never going to have to worry about being stranded, because taxis are truly all over the place. Considering how jammed the roads are, you definitely don’t want to try to rent a car in the city — it’s just too much hassle and stress.

So, what can you do in Bangkok? Plenty! Bicycle tours are actually quite common. You can explore parks, temple complexes, markets, and even the residential areas. Bicycles are treated like pedestrians and not vehicles, so there’s nothing stopping you.

There are massage parlors, spas, and even cultural dance performances that are sure to delight you.

But let’s go ahead and talk about the food, shall we? After all, we can’t cover an Asian city without talking about the food.

It’s said that there are actually over 50,000 places to eat in Bangkok, and we definitely believe it. There’s something for every budget and every appetite, so don’t believe that you can’t get a good meal if you hunt around long enough — you can.

If you can afford it, Sukhumvit is the best district for food — of all varieties. If you are on a budget, there are plenty of street stalls around. Also, you might want to check out Khao San Road, which has all of the budget restaurants you could want.

If you’re a vegetarian, you’ll love Bangkok — you’re not forgotten about. Just ask for “jay” food, which will leave the meat out of the dish. Most restaurants will also leave meat out of just about anything that has meat in it.

Where to stay in Bangkok depends on your budget. If you have some money to spend, you’ll want to make air conditioning a priority. This means that you’ll probably want to stay in Silom or Thonburi, but if you’re trying to stay middle of the road it’s going to be Siam Square or Sukhumvit.

Overall, there is so much to do in Bangkok that we would have to put out a whole series of guides just to help you navigate. This general guide should give you enough that you can book your trip with excitement — why not plan a trip to Bangkok today?

New York is one the best states in America. Not only is it the cornerstone of the financial market for America, but its culture and people are just as unique and interesting. A lot of people visit New York but if you aren’t a local, or your just a tourist wanting to see the Big Apple then following attractions listed below should help.

Statue Of Liberty

The original name is actually Liberty Enlightening The World. It was given to us by France in 1885 as a gift to symbolize the beginnings of America. Located on Liberty Island. The Statue Of Liberty holds its value even in today’s modern America. Freedom, justice, and the right to pursue happiness.

Empire State Building

Now this is a tower that you can’t miss. Located in the city of New York it was the largest tower ever to be built before the SEARS tower in Chicago claimed the title. The building contains multiple gift shops, the famous sky-ride virtual reality movie theater, as well as many exhibits for art. 10,000 to 20,000 people daily visit this tower. They are either tourist or employees, but one thing is for sure, the tower still stands today in all its grand.

Time Square

Time square is often mistaken to be a square by some tourist. It really is not. It takes shape as a district that is bordered by 6th Avenue and 9th avenue on one side. The other side is bordered by the 59th street and 39th. Time square wasn’t always called Time Square. The original name was long acre square but when the New York Times company moved their they changed the name of the actual district. This is due to the New Years Eve tradition the company holds every year.

United Nations Headquarters

Wow, this building is just something. Located on a 18 acre lot near the Hudson river the building is one of New York’s main attractions. I mean, who doesn’t want to see the UNITED NATIONS building? As you might have guessed this building is by far one of the most visited buildings in America, and New York. It receives tens of thousands of tourist every year and continues to show the progress America and the rest of the world is making toward global peace.

New york isn’t just a state. It is a state with rich history, culture, and an attitude that will either have you crying, or selling shoes on the corner block of Brooklyn.
